Hujambo! I’m Saskia – a psychology major/English minor/African Studies concentrator here at Kalamazoo College – and I’m super excited to be studying abroad at the University of Nairobi in Kenya this year! Moving from my hometown in Kentucky to the most populous city in East Africa is sure to be an adventure, and I absolutely cannot wait to experience everything that comes my way, from meeting my host family to learning KiSwahili to traveling around the countryside, and everything in between. I am definitely looking forward to sharing this journey with you through my blog, and although I’ll miss my friends and activities at K, I’m certainly glad to be missing the brunt of another Midwestern winter this year
